Radiolucent

Radiolucent

Forming in Athens, Georgia, Radiolucent began to build a solid fan base early on with their high energy, engaging performances and ability to establish personal connections with listeners through music. Upon completion of their debut album “Turn Me On and Turn Me Loose” in 2012, the Lucent boys began traveling the southeast leaving each town with their example of what an honest rock and roll show should be. After sharing the stage with a variety of artists ranging from Merle Haggard, Jamey Johnson and Blackberry Smoke to Cracker, Vintage Trouble and KISS, the band experienced line up changes that would prove to greatly affect the flavor of their follow up album.

In July of 2014, Radiolucent entered the studio to work on their second release “Electric City.” With the addition of 3 new members, the group continues to push their creative boundaries and craft a product that is entirely their own. The new album, which is currently in the later stages of the recording process, is set to release in the Spring of 2015. Michael Mann expressed his excitement for the new project saying “This is the most proud I’ve ever felt about anything I’ve taken part in creating. It sounds better, the songs are better, our influences are more electric and it’s more fun than anything else we’ve ever done. I’m a proud proud Poppa!”

All-The-Locals

All The Locals

Praised for their effortlessly original and creative approach to songwriting, Atlanta's own "All the Locals" (known to their fans as ATL) is one of the most distinct modern roots rock bands gigging today due to its organically innovative, multi-genre reach and its transcendent live shows. Their current EP "All the Locals II" reached the top 20 on the college radio charts with spins in over 100 college and AAA radio markets nationwide. They are currently the most played unsigned act on Radio 105.7 in Atlanta.

"All the Locals is an amalgamation of blues, neo-soul, and rock-n-roll," says ATL producer John Briglevich (Goo Goo Dolls, Drivin-n-Cryin, Outkast). "Their music is hard to describe and that's why I dig it."

ATL's songs have been heard on ‘Keeping up with Kardashians’, ‘R&B Divas’ as well as MTV. Their single "Headstrong" has recently been added to TouchTunes digital jukeboxes, which is the largest interactive entertainment platform in over 60,000 venues nationwide.

Fans often find it hard to pinpoint the bands unique sound. "Let’s just say we all have fresh and different styles to put to each song," says drummer Denorris "Deno" Pennyman. "So it’s kind of like a good thanksgiving dinner, where you try and put everything on your plate without spilling over!"

Sugar-Ray

Sugar Ray

The Southern California-based band's last album “MUSIC FOR COUGARS,” an exuberant reiteration of the band’s signature sound, with particular focus on songcraft and sonic invention. As ever, musical styles –from dancehall to disco, punk to pure pop – are mixed and matched, resulting in a celebratory, swaggering collection that is distinctively and delightfully Sugar Ray. Songs like the buoyant first single, “Boardwalk,” or the Rivers Cuomo-penned “Love Is the Answer” are fit to burst with the wit and energy that once saw the band rule over the Top 10. “MUSIC FOR COUGARS” sees this band of brothers operating at the very peak of its powers, with the skills, strengths, and smarts that only two decades together can provide.

Since their 1995 “LEMONADE AND BROWNIES” debut, Sugar Ray became stuck in a biennial cycle of touring and recording, touring and recording. 1997’s RIAA double platinum-certified sophomore effort, “FLOORED,” and its smash follow-up, 1999’s triple platinum “14:59” were trailed by 2001’s self-titled collection and 2003’s “IN THE PURSUIT OF LEISURE.” By the time of 2005’s “THE BEST OF SUGAR RAY,” the band had well and truly earned a break.

Since their 1986 inception as The Shrinky Dinks, McGrath took the time to explore new creative terrain – staying in the spotlight as co-host of the nationally syndicated entertainment news program, Extra as well as hosting Don't Forget the Lyrics, while guitarist Rodney Sheppard teaches music to neighborhood kids. Perhaps more importantly, Sheppard, started a family, in their hometown of Newport Beach.

Sugar Ray was in fact quite active during their hiatus, busting out the hits at private corporate events, county fairs, and countless summer festivals. By 2008, the band was itching to get back into the studio. In July, McGrath left Extra in order to devote more of his time to Sugar Ray. At the same time, the band’s longtime friend, producer Josh Abraham (Velvet Revolver, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park), invited them to cut a new album for his just-launched label, Pulse Recordings.

King-Roscoe

King Roscoe

Al'Dreco "King Roscoe" Booker-Jones was born on July 21, 2003 in Augusta, GA to Deishonna Jones and the late Al'Dreco Booker. At the age of two and a half months, he moved with his family to Atlanta, Ga. His passion for reading, drawing, and writing has inspired him to be an artist like his father. In 2005, King Roscoe had a modeling contract with The Atlanta Film & Fashion Board. Six months into his contract, King Roscoe was diagnosed with a staph infection, which left him with a scar on the side of his left forehead. Because of the scar on his forehead, King Roscoe faced a lot of problems in school, which included being bullied, teased, and called names, but through it all he continued to stay positive and use a lot of his time reading and writing.

King Roscoe was in a group in his 3rd grade class called Swag Team, a dance group, which was another passion of his. During that time he decided to write a song called “All A Student.” While writing the song, he presented it to his mother and she asked him what he wanted to do with it? He said, "I want to be a rapper like my daddy." King Roscoe recorded his first song in April 2012 and that was the beginning of Al'Dreco Jones AKA King Roscoe’s career.

King Roscoe is a big fan of T.I., 2 Chainz, and “Dear Mama” by the late 2 Pac is his favorite song. He has a bright future ahead of him. Over the summer, he has performed at several different events and also participated in “Shorty’s Runway” hosted by Ms. Juicy from the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. Madisyn-Elise

Madisyn Elise

In an era of cookie-cutter pop idols, 15-year-old Madisyn Elise is blazing her own path to stardom. A talented artist with entrepreneurial vision, Madisyn writes her own material, plays multiple instruments and co-owns the independent music label MEK7 Entertainment. Madisyn’s trademark sound is a bold mix of pop, rock and R&B that channels her youthful energy, with positive, inspirational lyrics that reflect a maturity far beyond her years. Case in point is her debut single “Crazy, Crazy,” a powerful anti-bullying anthem she wrote after being harassed by peers at school.

“This one experience kind of tipped me over,” said Madisyn. “I was just really tired and sad and depressed, and I wrote that song because of everything that I had been through.”

The response to the track has been overwhelming. Madisyn was named a finalist in the Teen category of the 2013 International Songwriting Competition, and she landed national news coverage when media giant CNN ran a story about “Crazy, Crazy” and its potent, personal message about bullying. In August 2014, Madisyn was 1 of 15 finalists at the No Bull Challenge Teen Video Awards for her lyric video to “Crazy, Crazy.” As a finalist, Madisyn was flown to Los Angeles, California where she attended the awards show. The video was nominated for “Best Actor,” “Best Director,” and “Best Visual.” Although the video did not win, the fact that Madisyn was recognized for something she created was priceless! “To think that something I wrote alone in my room has touched so many people is amazing,” said Madisyn. “It’s overwhelming to me to know that I actually had an influence in people’s lives and the song stopped them from hurting themselves and made them feel like somebody else out there was going through what they were going through.”

Since the release of “Crazy, Crazy,” Madisyn has recorded other popular songs which have been included on her EP, entitled, “PG-13.” Two of the songs off the EP, “Fire, Storm & Rain,” and “Livin’ Out Loud,” have made Madisyn a featured artist on Reverbnation’s feature page for October 2014 and November 2014.

Courtney-Dickinson

Courtney Dickinson

“Ground breaker, breath taker, earth shaker, c'mon baby, c'mon” is how seventeen-year-old Georgia native Courtney Dickinson starts her latest single, Unstoppable. The lyrics do not just apply to the song; they also apply to Courtney’s budding country music career. She co-wrote her latest single and recorded it in just days as a finalist of Dodge’s “Inspired by You” contest. But that is not the first major company to feature this red headed beauty’s music. At fourteen, Courtney took part in The Gap’s “Born to Play” event which featured live music in their stores across the country, with the songs continuing to play after the event as the store’s soundtrack. Even before Dodge and The Gap, Courtney’s song Falter was featured by Vietti Vinyl and her photo was featured on cans of chili!

“Heart racing, dream chasing, it's worth the chance we're taking.” Chances are what Courtney has been taking since a child. It all started as a toddler, when Courtney began acting and modeling, and then became the youngest member of the Little General Cloggers on the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. By the time she entered grade school, Courtney had the honor of performing at President Jimmy Carter’s Birthday Celebration. Over the next few years, Courtney honed in on her talents by studying with the top acting and vocal coaches in Los Angeles and creating an impressive list of appearances for a small town girl from Georgia.

“We're unstoppable, whoa unstoppable…” Unstoppable is just what Courtney is. From her original songs like Quarter to Never and It’s Gotta be Rough to her unique country-fied cover of Born This Way, no one can deny that Courtney is on to something special. Or whether it was her Ready, Set, Don’t Go, duet with Billy Ray Cyrus at age 12, opening for Cowboy Troy at the Big & Rich fan party, or even performing the national anthem for the Atlanta Braves, Courtney always finds a way to bring her southern roots to the stage, and won’t let anyone forget that she’ll always be an Unstoppable country girl.

"Music has always been a part of me," Megan says. "It's always been something I've loved."

In 2011, she began taking guitar lessons and quickly realized that the guitar is her instrument. She loved it and soon progressed to accompanying herself on stage with her beloved Taylor guitar. homegrown-band

Homegrown Band

When you hear "Homegrown," what comes to mind? Do you think of something tended year after year with patience and love? Maybe a crop, an idea, or a way of life that, after years of cultivation, rewards dedication with something precious?

When they settled on the name "Homegrown Band" in the spring of 2011, members Craig Brannon, Kevin Brannon, Jason Cole, Megan Blair, and Nick Ivey hoped their fans would associate them and their music with that sentiment. "As we were writing and branding ourselves," says Jason, "we found that the recurring theme was 'home'--our home, the South--and its culture, value system, and way of life. We were invoking the place and the things that our parents, their parents, and, generations later, we believed to be important enough to build our lives around. While ideas like fidelity, the virtue in hard work, and the necessity of faith are quickly being written off as old-fashioned, they've been cultivated in us, and we think that they're vital enough to write and sing about."

After touring for months in West and South Georgia, metro Atlanta, and East Alabama and opening for artists like Corey Smith and Ashton Shepherd in support of the EP, the band recorded, produced, and released its second single, "Enjoy The Ride," in late 2013. Initially, the song was given away as a free download at the band's shows. After a few months, the band noticed the song's growing popularity among their fans and placed it in rotation on The Bull's Backyard Country. "This past week [Saturday, December 28, 2013] was the song's sixth week on the air," states Kevin. "We're consistently doing well on [Backyard Country], which is great. To me, it proves we've got a dedicated following in our area. We know it takes a lot for people to drop what they're doing and vote for us week after week; but, they are, and we couldn't be more excited about that."

Homegrown Band is planning to release a second album tentatively titled 'Summer Song' in the spring of 2015. The record will feature new songs that the band has been writing and performing over the course of their 2014 tour schedule.

Elements-of-Style

Elements of Style

"Elements of Style wants to address post-modern dilemmas in an increasingly dystopian American culture with an incredibly diverse display of musical genres. We see creativity as stagnate in today's mainstream music culture and believe in inventing new sounds with an important message of truth in an ever-growing deceptive world." -Gram Wire

Elements of Style started out as a solo project from former Atlanta band Suburban Soul's lead guitarist Gram Wire. After leaving Suburban Soul in late 2010, Wire began writing an 11 song full length album containing multiple genres which would later become Elements of Style's debut album "Waves". The album was recorded with Grammy award winning drummer of the Derek Trucks band Yonrico Scott and Grammy nominated bassist Joseph Patrick Moore and released independently on April 24th, 2012.

After tracking was finished and the album was mastered by legendary engineer Rodney Mills (.38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rage Against The Machine), Wire decided the project needed to be a full group instead of a solo project. He enlisted numerous musicians that entered and left the band, until finding the very professional current lineup of drummer and percussionist David Goodwin, bassist and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Taylor, guitarist and singer Spencer Healy, and front-man and MC Zach Fortner (A.K.A Zach Fortnight). The group's influences of Rage Against the Machine, Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens of the Stone Age, Immortal Technique and Big K.R.I.T. come out in songs like "Feelin' That Music" and their live performances as a group in the Atlanta area stand out as being intense, creative, and high energy.

Formed just outside Atlanta Georgia The Perks are a high energy four piece that came together in early 2013. Their style spans genres from dance music to hard rock with a sound that engages younger and older crowds. Greco-Band

Greco

Though GRECO has spent years saturated in music and performance, it is the release of their latest EP – ALL THE THINGS YOU WANT - that will mark their true musical statement to the world.

Within the walls of All the Things You Want, Greco’s discovery sails alive as their compelling combination of rich pop layers among mixed styles of rhythm and blues, rock and soul. Through aligning their unwavering dedication to the do-it-yourself work ethic with a signature sound, lead vocalist/guitarist Johann Greco, bassist Zach Greco, keyboardist Sebastian Greco, drummer Gabriel Greco, guitarist Josh Usalavage (yes, four of them are brothers) have helped to define the landscape of today’s post-modern rock music scene. The backbone of their work? Stylistically eclectic songs—suggesting a range of influences from The Rolling Stones, INXS, Prince and Rod Stewart—that captivate their audiences with their unshakable enthusiasm and inescapable sass. Their energy is a fuel that burns full-throttle, ignited by the heat of their soulful voices and the power and passion of their performance.

Hailing from Athens, Georgia –the breeding ground of musical legends– Greco’s musical flair involved three decades worth of influence that goes into their writing. Singer / Songwriter Johann Greco brings his brand of genre-bending musicology into everything captured on stage and in the studio. Johann’s penmanship blends such geniuses as David Bowie, Robert Plant and Sting, and harmonizes the guitar gods and frontmen of the 60s, 70s and 80s. Power-pop hooks with rock & roll attitude sum up Greco’s presence on stage and in their style that fans just cannot ignore

The-Remedy-Band

The Remedy

Born and raised in rural Harlem, Georgia, where all but one of the members grew up on the same street, you can't call these boys anything but southern. And while Josh may cite Van Halen as his number one influence and Caleb would say Zeppelin, they all find a common thread in Southern Rock, because for each member that is where it all began. Ask Ethan DeMore about his first ever concert where he saw The Allman Brothers and he can tell you about the experience like it was yesterday, and you'll soon understand why Gregg Allman is his biggest musical influence. Or ask Josh about when he was but only five years old and his dad popped in a Molly Hatchet cassette tape while riding through the Smoky Mountains and how it was the first time he remembers music catching his attention (hard to do for a five year old). Even though he had no idea what he was listening to, he knew he loved it.

The beginning for The Remedy goes back to the summer of 2009. DeMore, who worked at local music store CenterStage, was in need of a guitarist and bassist for an upcoming gig with his praise band. Josh and Olmstead, who had been playing together since the eighth grade and at the time were in an 80's Rock cover band where they played Van Halen, Poison, Whitesnake, etc., just happened to stop by CenterStage and DeMore asked if they'd fill in. They accepted and quickly felt chemistry amongst them on stage. Soon after DeMore had another upcoming gig and this time needed a drummer. With Josh and Olmstead stepping in again, Josh suggested his younger brother Caleb give it a shot. Caleb was only twelve years old at the time and had just happened to have started playing Josh's old kit earlier that year. They had a practice and Caleb held his own behind the kit, and as they say the rest is history. They played church gigs and contemporary Christian songs for the next two years. By 2011 they felt they had something to say but in a little different way, and wanted everybody else to hear it.

From that point on they began the pursuit to make a name for themselves, and to tell a message through their own music. And they would do that with the music that came the most natural for them, Southern Rock. They soon made contact with Producer and Third Day keyboardist Scotty Wilbanks and instantly hit it off. They made plans to cut their first album with him the next year. The album was recorded in Wilbanks's own studio, The Rockporium, in the summer of 2012 and was planned to be released the following year. It was through the recording process that the band decided they change the name along with the release of the new album. July 7, 2013 "The Remedy" was born. Most important to The Remedy is the message they hope to tell through their music, and it will be done with real, raw Rock and Roll. No backing tracks, no auto tune, all live. That’s how The Remedy rolls.

Edward Keyes of Rolling Stone Magazine wrote: “Think full-band Outkast: These fellow ATLiens blend Dre and Big Boi's knack for nimble rhymes with weirdo spaced-out funk horns and rock making snarling songs that swivel and pounce.” Their live show is regarded to be one of the best you can see and GPWFLY has also licensed their music for use on TV in such shows as ABC's "Scandal", The Food Networks “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”, Current TV’s “The Young Turks with Cenk Uygur” and at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards (Fashion Oscars).

KontraBand Muzik

Front man and lead vocalist - Nathan (Nate) Davis, and vocalist and guitarist - Davey Heritier are the newest and brightest sound to hit the Atlanta scene. This college educated, male duo “blurs the lines” of music with a Pop sound that fuses many influences to create a cross appeal enjoyed by all in Atlanta - a city where urban hip hop or dance seem to dominate (separately) and people party in pockets. Both musicians are white males from the Midwest but have accomplished the tasks of creating a sound that is all-inclusive and enjoyed by all! Nate along with his singing is also an accomplished rapper, and Davey is a soulful singer whose influences range from Muse to Biggie Smalls. Recently, they have been supported by a diverse group of backing musicians that has included an African American, Latino, and all-female band.

KBM comments about their newest EP – “Tonight’s the Night” - “we created this pop juggernaut to change the way people feel about popular music. This album truly brings together our influences - Motown, Outkast, 2Pac, Rolling Stones, Hall and Oates, Chromeo, Muse, the Beatles, and Biggie Smalls. We feel like we’ve made a record that’s fun, sexy, and makes people want to dance. And, we did it our way.”
