Roman GianArthur

Like Stevie Wonder and Prince before him, Roman GianArthur is a miracle in the making, a jaw-dropping singer, composer, arranger, producer, and performer —an innovative and inspiring 21st century redefinition of what it means to be an artist. Originally from Winston-Salem, NC, Roman now spends his days putting the finishes touches on his magisterial debut LP "The Good Dreamer", while consistently broadening the expectations of what a soul singer can do: writing musicals, composing concertos, conducting orchestras, scoring films, picking up new instruments and learning their mysteries at prodigious speed, all while offering heartfelt reflections on the social implications of art, and the need for more beauty in the world around us. With a laugh, Roman shakes his head and says,“I just love to practice...and telling myself stories while I practice. It's really my favorite thing to do!"

Brian Collins

Born and raised in West Georgia, Brian Collins displays a true southern soul with his musical presence. Humbled by his modest upbringing as the son of two truck-driving parents, Brian exudes passion and love in every corner of his career. Brian’s a longtime veteran of the industry and demonstrates an equivalent professionalism.

The soulful quality of his voice gives meaningful expression to songs that bend the lines of genres like country, southern rock, and soul. The depth of Brian’s songwriting and the magnitude of his perspective attest to his broad appeal and ever-growing fan base. His honest lyrics capture the heart of every listener. Take a cross between Tom Petty, Bob Seger, Zac Brown, and Marc Broussard—and you have a sound unlike any other—you have something unique. And uniqueness describes Brian in every sense of the word. His tone, driven by the beats of a stripped-down percussion kit and bass lines, offer a well-rounded, energetic live performance that engulfs the senses and takes audiences on a notable journey.

Janelle Monáe

At long last, Janelle Monáe -- the inimitable, award-winning, songwriter, performer, producer, CoverGirl and avant-garde funkstress -- is back again, ready to release her another full-length "emotion picture" to the masses. But as always, Janelle is not ready to talk about music just yet. She'd rather talk about her past and how those fertile powerful experiences forced her to create her coming album "The Electric Lady."

According to Monáe, "I went back to Kansas City after my tour for my debut album 'The ArchAndroid.' And when I looked around me, I decided I wanted to make a raw, revealing album all about my life and the things I'd experienced in my community -- about the laughter in the parks, the jams bumping in the cars, the jokes told over kitchen tables, all the life and warmth and struggles I felt there. But I also wanted to figure out how to take Kansas City to the a surreal Parliament album with lyrics by Octavia Butler and album art by Salvador Dali."

As time passed, Monáe found herself increasingly drawn to the stories and experiences of the strong women in her life, and their ability to electrify and inspire individuals to do the right thing. "At some point I realized that the true heart and glue of the community were the women. My mama and grandmamma and my aunties and who to this day, are some of the most powerful beings on the planet. Under their guidance, I went from cleaning houses everyday in my maid outfit to the world-traveling performer I am today. They made me believe in myself enough to move from Kansas and pursue my dreams. A lot of folks think I work hard onstage because of James Brown. But they've never met my mother!"

Aspen Countryman

I’m a 14 year old singer/songwriter from Georgia. I have been writing music and singing for as long as I can remember. My grandpa said he used to pick me up from preschool and I would sing him a song I wrote. I picked up a guitar when I was 9, and I was instantly hooked. I decided to play guitar because of Taylor Swift. (of course!) She inspires me every day to keep at it. She made her dreams come true, so I know I can too. I’ve never been very “technical” when it comes to music. I can’t explain how I write a song. It’s not that simple. Every word you sing needs to come straight from the heart. When you write a song, you feel it. You know exactly what happened and how it made you feel. That’s why I love writing music.

I have had an amazing year. In October 2011, I had the opportunity to open up for Sonia Leigh at the Variety Playhouse! While I was there, I met Zac Brown backstage. Best night of my life! Also, my songs “Butterflies” and "I Still Love You" have been on 94.9 The Bull Backyard County. It was a dream come true to hear my songs on the radio! I have performed at Open Mics all over the Atlanta area, including Eddie’s Attic, the Cumming Playhouse, and Crimson Moon in Dahlonega. I have also performed in the Open Mic at the Bluebird Café in Nashville and in the “Rising Star” contest at Puckett’s, just outside of Nashville. I play 2-3 hour shows all over the North Georgia area. If I’m not performing, I’m most likely with friends. My friends are my life. My family and friends support me in everything I do. I can’t wait to see what my future holds. I know one thing for sure; music will be part of it!

So what better way to tell a story than through music and to have people hear it?” Sharon has performed at many of the top Singer/Songwriter venues, including the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Eddie's Attic in Atlanta, and the Red Clay Theatre in Duluth, Georgia. She has also played at various music festivals and fundraising benefits. 10StepsBack is a group of young guys who have a passion for music and like to express themselves through it. They are from Buford, Georgia, and their ages range from 9th to 12th grade. Musicians who have influenced the band include Switchfoot, The Fray, Coldplay, and U2. Although a young band, 10StepsBack has a live show performance passing the tests of much older musicians.

The band consists of frontman Ian Taylor (guitar, vocals and piano) and London Taylor (bass and backing vocals). Ian states the band's drive: “In a world full of uncertainty and hopelessness, we want to show people a greater hope to believe in, a way to make a difference in someone’s life, a way of moving forward through the day-to-day."

10StepsBack emerged in September of 2008 as a small garage band playing covers. The guys performed for the first time at Buford Middle School’s talent show in December of the same year. As they walked off stage, the band knew immediately that they did not want to give up. They continued playing different events in their hometown of Buford. Later, they started writing their own music and incorporating those songs into the set. Pretty soon, the whole set was original. They kept booking shows just to play, no matter the size of the audience.

In late 2011, 10StepsBack's debut radio single, “Shout,” aired on several stations across the nation. Following this release, in April of 2012, they released their first music video for their second single, “Sound of Angels,” which released to radio in August 2012. These two songs came off the extended edition EP that was released on June 11, 2012. After playing some festivals throughout the summer (AtlantaFest and Ichthus 2012), the guys are playing local shows in Georgia.

10StepsBack brings a distinct sound and obvious passion to an energetic music experience that inspires people to look for a deeper meaning to this life. The band continues to write new material and looks forward to returning to the studio soon. Their story will continue on as the world keeps spinning…

Assembled in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA, USA in May 2011, N.Ta.J launched with the original members Andriell Nikierra Lindsey (Nikie), Shataya Sabbryiah Durham ( Taya), and Jasmine Joy Harrell (Jazz). The name comes from the beginning letters of their nick names (N)ikie,(Ta)ya, (J)azz). Nikie and Shataya were middle school friends who cheered together, then later became dance members for a popular group based out of Atlanta, GA. Taya and Jazz are God sisters and also sung in the church choir together at a young age. Taya and Nikie went to the Manager of the group they were dancing for asking him what he thought about creating a group for them. Originally the Manager requested for it to be a total of four girls for the group. Nikie and Taya both asked a few friends they thought were good enough to join what they were trying to establish, but each one of them did not show up when it was time to meet with the Manager. At that time Shataya mother called her best friend and asked if Jazz would be interested and she accepted and came over. From that day on the three of them created a bond through singing, cheering, and dancing. Each one of these ladies brings a different taste to the group.

That summer the girls began to work. They were in some of the top Recording Studios in Atlanta with some of the top producers in the industry. Their first project was produced by the Grammy Winning Producer Bolo Productions who also produced Jamie Foxx’s Grammy winning song “Blame It “. During that summer of 2011 thru the winter of 2012 the girls did numerous performances throughout the Metro Atlanta area. Some shows include 107.9 fm Miss Juicy’s Shorty Rip the Runway, Riverdale Town Center, Point South Middle School, Atlanta’s Annual Stunt Fest, Ritz II Night Club, Silver Ice Night Club, and the list can go on. These girls have strived and fought for the shine they are dreaming of and sooner or later they will get it.

Nikie was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 22, 1997 to the parents of Satyris Barnes and Joseph Lindsey. Nikie moved to Atlanta at the age of 3yrs with her mother. She was in cheerleading, dance and band for her whole middle school year. She is set to graduate in the spring of 2015. Shataya was born in Augusta, GA on October 21, 1997 to the parents of Kyneisha Norman and Gary Durham. At the age of 7yrs old she moved to Atlanta, GA with her mother. She also was involved with cheerleading, dance, and step dancing during her middle school year. She is set to graduate in the spring of 2016. Jazz was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 1, 1996 to the parents of Denise Harrell and Kenneth Hall. Jazz moved to Atlanta at the age of 6yrs old with her mother. She too, was involved in cheerleading, dance, and step dancing her middle school year. She is set to graduate the spring of 2014. These three girls all have their own personality and style that mesh very well together. Each girl represents a certain trait they all carry, but at different times. These girls are determined to make it to the top and with the help of their committed support system they have no choice to rise.

From the moment I came into the world I loved music. My mother said I'd hum melodies before I could talk, and as soon as I could walk I was humming and dancing. I hoarded any music or record I could find. If someone was tired of their old vinyl or cassette music I'd take them and add them to my collection. Before long I'd collected hundreds of albums. My room was a music library. I had every type of music genre imaginable. I learned to love all music and still do to this day. I learned to sing gospel, reggae, rock, blues, soul, country, classical—you name it. If it was music I was listening. I never missed an episode of Soul Train or American Bandstand. I loved Don Cornelius and Dick Clark. I lived for their interviews. And when BET and Donny Simpson and MTV came on the scene I was an addict. All the while these diverse music experiences were influencing my own development and style. Which most say is hard to pigeonhole into one specific genre.

I took my clarinet and cassette player with me everywhere I went. And when I wasn't listening to music I was composing it and singing it. When I was 10 years old I won First Chair in All City Band. I played my clarinet and everyone loved it. My mother hugged me and asked how in the world did you do that and I looked at her and without emotion said God. She laughs and tells that story every Thanksgiving.

I never quite believed I was good enough to pursue music as a career and in my family focusing on a college education was what was expected of me. So I focused on my education and on my business career all the while privately obsessing on music. My husband and best friend who is also an artist and loves music, looks me in my eyes one evening during a candle lit dinner and says, “Follow your heart and dreams. Success is measured by happiness. It doesn't matter who may or may not like your art as long as you do.” He said, “You are very talented and your voice is the most beautiful I've ever heard.” I'm sure he's quite biased. But that day changed my life's journey. And I haven't looked back. My music is an expression of me and who I am. I hope you enjoy it.

The Perks

Formed just outside Atlanta Georgia The Perks are a high energy four piece that came together in early 2013. Their style spans genres from dance music to hard rock with a sound that engages younger and older crowds. With a collection of original tracks to bring the house down, each of the members are also known to switch instruments adding to the spectacle of their live shows.

Both leading singer songwriters have an extensive background in recording developed by work with producers and musicians in Atlanta and Nashville. This enabled the group to create their first demo album in July, 2013. Using that as a tool to promote the band, they have since begun making a name for themselves by playing in bars and other local scenes throughout the Southeast. The focus is now on playing at larger and more challenging venues such as the Battle of the Bands at the Masquerade in Atlanta where the Perks won the first round due in part to its growing fan base support. The final round will take place in December and will be another step forward for this exciting new band!

Them Morris Boys

Fingers bleeding, sweat dripping and the loudest music ever played in a crowded bedroom. As the song ends, four brothers open their eyes and realize they are still in a small bedroom; but for a moment, in their minds, they were performing in front of thousands. Band practice comes to an end and they pack up their dream and get washed up for dinner. But Them Morris Boys are not just another "Garage Band", they are brothers, with music as tight as their bond; and though they dream of great success, it is and always will be about the music and family for TMB.

Them Morris Boys' father was a small town, guitar picking preacher and their mother, a stay at home mom. They are four of seven children who grew up in a musical family. “Being a part of such a big family, times weren't always easy. Though we never did without, you didn't always get everything you wanted”, says TMB guitar player, Micah Morris. Them Morris Boys' musical journey began with the love of their granddad who left their father with an inheritance when he passed away. Their father took that inheritance and bought each of them their first instrument for the biggest Christmas they can ever remember. As soon as the instruments were unwrapped, practice began; as soon as practice began, the flame was lit. The oldest of TMB and the drummer says, “From then on, no matter what we went through, we always had music and we always had each other”. It's hard to tell if the brotherhood is what makes the music so great, or if the music is what really solidifies their bond, but as the youngest of the group, bassist Morgan Morris, will tell you, “They work together and feed off of each other”, which creates the unstoppable and unbelievably talented force that is Them Morris Boys.

TMB has recently experienced significant success. They signed a recording contract with Phoenix Record Group, went to Nashville, and released their first album which is now available on iTunes, Amazon and other music downloading websites. Although the list of their goals is about a mile long, for Them Morris Boys, it is and always will be about the music and the bond they share.
